ABOUT THIS ROLE The VDI System Administrator will, under broad direction from the Commonwealth, be responsible for a range of activities contributing to the design, build, test and operation of ICT systems and network services to support the delivery of modern mobility solutions for senior government officials. Project activities under the project include expanding the existing network, computing systems, desktop delivery solutions, complex gateway services, cloud services, and secure mobility solutions. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design, test and deploy new versions of the Windows operating system, build and maintain system images and provide integration for VMware and Citrix VDI Platforms. Integrate and support management of security software and configurations. Provide and develop VM image and template automation. Implement VDI performance monitoring and tool tuning for a dynamic network environment. Implement regular checks to confirm system health status, including hardware and software. Develop and operate a backup and recovery service for virtualised Windows systems. Preferable - Integrate with MFA solutions. Preferable - Develop and operate a windows server platform including Active Directory, DNS, PKI, remote desktop services and WSUS. Preferable - Troubleshoot and resolve Windows issues. TECHNICAL SKILLS Demonstrated experience and qualifications in administering Omnissa (VMware EUC) and Citrix Cloud technologies. Deployment and imaging technology troubleshooting. Desirable - Demonstrated experience and qualifications in Microsoft server and desktop technologies (including Exchange, WSUS, MECM) Desirable - Experience in Microsoft PowerShell scripting.
