We now have an exciting opportunity available for an OT Systems Team Lead to join us in our Business Platforms team Brisbane (preferred), Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide on a Permanent Full-Time basis. Reporting to the Energy Technology Systems Value Stream Manager, this role provides technical leadership and end-to-end assurance of OT systems across APA’s diverse energy asset portfolio. It leads the planning function while overseeing the deployment and support of engineers, OT Architects and site networks specialists across the full system lifecycle. The role ensures OT systems are , reliable, secure, and aligned with APA’s operational and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Act as the Technical Authority for APA’s OT systems, guiding architecture, standards, and technical planning across energy assets to ensure availability, reliability, and cyber resilience. Oversee the planning and deployment of OT architects, engineers and LAN specialists, ensuring seamless coordination across Plan, Build, Deliver, and Run functions in a high-performing matrix environment. Manage a geographically dispersed technical team, balancing competing priorities, optimising resource allocation and ensuring delivery excellence across multiple states and sites. Lead the development, review and approval of conceptual and preliminary system designs — including FEED, scoping, cost estimates and SME resourcing—aligned with APA’s strategic and compliance objectives. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, regulators and partners to ensure integration readiness, operational handover and technical compliance in a regulated environment. Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational discipline, while maintaining high engagement and capability within a dynamic, project-driven environment. Your Background Qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with CPEng, RPEQ and RPEV accreditations. (Preferred) Demonstrated leadership in managing high-performing technical teams within complex, multi-functional environments. Experience in engineering management and system operations across gas processing, power generation, renewables and electricity transmission assets. Strong understanding of operational OT systems, OT architecture, site communications networks, and relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., IEC 62443, SOCI, AESCSF). In-depth knowledge of AEMO gas and power market systems, including dispatch and planning processes. Excellent stakeholder engagement, project management and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement and collaborative culture.
