We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Operations Strategy Lead - Power to join us in our Operations team in Perth, WA, Melbourne, VIC, Brisbane, QLD or Sydney, NSW on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Operations Strategy & Capital, you will be developing, managing and disseminating risk-weighted and cost-effective asset system strategies and plans, optimising capital allocation, and providing the framework for operating assets’ strategies and management plans aligned to APA Group’s corporate strategy and purpose. You will influence and lead across the enterprise to drive best-for-business long-term outcomes. Key Responsibilities Coordination and development of asset system strategies on a 5year time horizon (Strategic Asset Management Plans), in collaboration with the Power and Electricity Transmission operating business units and supporting functions Communication and dissemination of system strategies across APA Coordination of business unit strategies & roll-up to the overarching APA Operations strategy Coordination of Operations inputs to economic regulatory processes including Access Arrangements and Revenue Determinations, liaising with corporate functions Tracking and monitoring strategic performance, opportunities and risks across the power asset portfolio Leading and coordination of selected strategic initiatives across the operating business unit and corporate functions, along with providing input to the enterprise strategic planning process for Operations budgeting Your background Excellent communicator and self-starter with demonstrated ability to develop relationships and manage stakeholders in a complex enterprise environment Excellent commercial and operational knowledge of power generation and transmission assets, both on-grid and remote, including hybrid and micro-grid assets Experience in a broad cross section of power assets including open-cycle and combined-cycle gas turbines, reciprocating gas engine generators, solar farms, wind turbines, grid-scale battery energy storage systems and HVDC technology Strategic mindset, focused on long-term business value, with ability to interpret and synthesise data and identify and act on trends and opportunities Experience with asset management and economic regulatory processes and frameworks, budgeting and financial analysis and planning Working at APA At APA we’re committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.
