We are hiring for a Product Operations Coordinator - Catering to join our Product Operations team to deliver the Australian Open 2026. This is a full-time fixed-term contract from October 2025 to February 2026 . As this is a seasonal role , we require full availability and flexibility across the summer months, December – February. About the role The Product Operations Coordinator – Catering position is responsible for the end to end management and delivery of precinct catering operations at the Australian Open. In this role you will be responsible for: Support the end-to-end delivery of Australian Open food, dining, and catering operations across planning, bump-in, event delivery, and bump-out for all non-permanent venues, kitchens, and tournament dining areas . Coordinate operational requirements with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring compliance with City of Melbourne and food safety standards, and manage key logistics including site access, kitchen infill, and POS system setup, deployment and reporting management. Build and maintain strong relationships with catering partners, restaurant vendors, and precinct stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and high-quality experiences across multiple event locations. Contribute to workforce planning and team leadership by supporting staffing coordination, inductions, daily briefings, and driving a collaborative, high-performing team culture. Play a key role in sustainability, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives, while liaising with departments such as Marketing, Partnerships, and Product Development to align food operations with broader event goals. About you To be successful in this role you will have: Minimum 3 years’ experience in large-scale catering or major event environments, with strong knowledge of food and hospitality operations. Solid understanding of end-to-end food and beverage delivery in major sporting events, including front and back of house requirements. Demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, make sound professional judgments, and manage commercial operations within a complex organisational setting. Experience working with local Melbourne City Compliance standards is a must. Confident, adaptable, and solutions-focused with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
