This role will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and the integrity of bank reconciliations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Position Summary The Financial Accountant will be responsible for performing timely and accurate bank reconciliations, supporting month-end and year-end closing processes, and preparing financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams within a global business structure. Key Responsibilities Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple entities Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner Prepare and maintain general ledger journal entries Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements Support wider finance team with month-end processes Liaise with internal departments and external auditors to support financial audits Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or AASB) and internal controls Assist in process improvement initiatives to streamline reconciliation and reporting functions Provide accurate and timely financial information to stakeholders Key Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA or CA qualification 2-4 years of experience in a similar financial accounting or reconciliation role Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Experience in a multinational or complex business environment is advantageous What's on Offer Competitive day rate Opportunity to work within a high-performing finance team at a leading multinational company Career progression and professional development support Central Melbourne CBD location with flexible work arrangements available
