The Finance and Procurement Services Division plays a critical role in supporting Council’s financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and compliance. The division comprises three key teams: Accounting Services, which oversees budgeting, business partnering, financial reporting, audits, and asset accounting; Procurement & Systems, responsible for managing procurement activities, compliance, training, and system support; and Revenue & Payables, which manages Council’s rating revenue, debt recovery, corporate property data, and accounts payable functions. Together, these teams ensure the effective financial management of Council’s operations and resources, supporting service delivery to the community. About the Role: We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our team on a 6-month contract, with the potential for extension. In this role, you’ll support the business with low to medium risk procurement activities, working closely with Procurement Business Partners to ensure a smooth and compliant procurement process. You’ll help build strong stakeholder relationships, provide system and policy guidance, and contribute to procurement reporting, data analysis, and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and support low to medium risk procurement activities including market analysis, tendering, and evaluation. Assist with negotiation processes and the preparation of recommendations and contract awards. Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement policies, procedures, and systems. Support the application of the Contract Management Framework across the business. Maintain accurate procurement records across systems such as ECM, Ready Contracts, Vendor Panel, and TechOne. Support business units with procurement via Vendor Panel. Assist in documenting procurement processes, exemptions, and general administration. Collaborate with Procurement Business Partners during peak periods to meet sourcing needs. To be successful in this role, you will have: Demonstrated experience managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for goods, works, and services. High level of integrity, strong work ethic, and a proactive attitude. Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple procurement activities. Ability to work both independently and within a team. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. General knowledge of probity, risk management, and relevant legislation.
