Description Community Learning and Programs Library Technician Reference number: 10740 Closing date: 11:00pm, Thursday 14 August 2025 Part-time permanent position. Salary of $42.56 per hour plus 12% superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience. Library Band 4 21 hours spread across a 7 day week. The Opportunity This position provides an opportunity to develop and deliver library services and programs for adult Moonee Valley Library members. As part of the Moonee Valley Library team, you will provide professional, friendly and high-quality customer service to the Moonee Valley Community. As the Community Learning and Programs Library Technician, you will develop and deliver programs that are responsive to the needs of the community, based on priorities set by the program leadership team. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for the following: Provide a proactive and customer-focused approach to library service delivery. Develop and deliver relevant programs, including digital that benefit the Moonee Valley Community in consultation with the programs team and library team leader. Undertake customer service duties as required, including relief at other library locations, to ensure efficient operation of the library service. Assist library users in the use of equipment and technology such as computers, photocopiers, wireless internet access, online resources, library apps, eBooks and mobile devices. Provide supervision and training to library staff as required. Ensure library opening and closing procedures are correctly implemented when rostered on at the beginning or end of the day. About You In order to be suitable for this position, you will possess the following: A tertiary qualification acceptable for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), together with extensive work skills and experience in the operation of library services; Demonstrated experience in engaging with a range of community groups and organisations with successful outcomes; Extensive experience in development and delivery of learning programs and events; Extensive experience in public libraries; Demonstrated leadership skills in managing and motivating staff in a team based work environment; and Proven experience in developing educational and learning programs within a community context.
