The role ALS Geochemistry requires a Shift Supervisor to join our Sample Preparation facility in Canning Vale . You will be supervising a crew of approximately 20 – 30 people. Training will be provided for the right candidate. This full-time position requires the ability to work a rotating shift schedule: Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM Night Shift: 10 PM – 6 AM This is a leadership role with the following responsibilities: Execute position responsibilities and duties in a professional manner, in compliance with ALS HR policies and procedures. Ensure all staff are aware of safety and procedural requirements by promptly notifying the HR Officer and/or Senior Management as applicable. Supervise staff within the assigned department/section. Train all staff to ensure correct processes are followed, as outlined in published policies, procedures, and methods. Ensure that both basic and position-specific responsibilities are performed accurately, in accordance with documented procedures. Ensure all production targets are met and regularly communicate progress to the Senior Supervisor and Operations Manager. Conduct regular follow-ups and reviews to ensure production targets are being achieved and priorities are maintained. Provide regular coaching sessions focused on compliance with production targets, priorities, and quality standards. Effectively manage staff resources and roster requirements. Maintain infrastructure, including machinery, equipment, and consumable levels, as needed. Facilitate effective and efficient meetings when required. Ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy. Perform other duties as directed by the Senior Supervisor, Operations Manager, or their designee. Your ability to manage staff and deal quickly, efficiently and fairly with issues in a high volume and dynamic environment will ensure your success in this role. To be successful, you will have or be able to demonstrate: An understanding of the sample preparation process Experience in the testing and analysis industry An exceptional work ethic. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Computer literate. Good time management and organizational abilities. An understanding of QC principles.
