In this pivotal role, you will protect the organisation’s systems, networks, and data from emerging cyber threats, leveraging your expertise in cyber security frameworks, risk management, incident response, and operational security to maintain our security posture and ensure regulatory compliance, while leading key cybersecurity initiatives and mentoring junior team members. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive cyber security strategies, frameworks, and initiatives to protect the organisation’s systems, networks, and data. Conduct regular risk and security control assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend and implement effective controls and countermeasures. Monitor, analyse, and respond to security events, alerts, and logs to detect and mitigate potential threats or breaches in a timely manner. Lead incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review. Liaise with security vendors, service providers, and external partners, ensuring contractual obligations, performance standards, and service levels are met. Design and maintain secure infrastructure, systems, and applications, ensuring all components integrate and operate effectively. Perform security assessments, penetration testing, and system audits to identify, report, and remediate vulnerabilities. Establish, implement, and maintain security documentation, policies, standards, and procedures in line with industry regulations and frameworks. Oversee operational processes related to system security, disaster recovery planning, backups, and integrity controls. Troubleshoot and provide technical support for server, network, and security-related issues, including hardware, software, and communication infrastructure. Stay informed on emerging threats, trends, and technologies, and recommend proactive measures to strengthen the organisation’s security posture. Mentor and guide junior cyber security team members, fostering professional growth and capability development. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 2 years’ demonstrated experience as a Cyber Security Analyst or related profession, with expertise in security operations, incident response, and risk assessment. Strong knowledge of cyber security principles, frameworks, and industry best practices. Hands-on experience with security monitoring tools, SIEM platforms, and threat intelligence solutions. Proficient in penetration testing methodologies, vulnerability assessment tools, and secure coding practices. Solid understanding of network security, firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection technologies. Skilled in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation and integration of security tools. Knowledge of cloud security concepts and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure). Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record in addressing complex security challenges. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, GIAC) are highly regarded.
