About the Opportunity The Lead Business Analyst is accountable for the mobilisation, leadership, and performance of a squad of Business Analysts who report directly into this role and support delivery across a defined portfolio or domain group. Reporting to the Manager Portfolio Delivery, the Lead BA is responsible for both leadership and hands on delivery of business analysis activities across the entire initiative lifecycle—including discovery, solutioning, requirements definition, documentation, and test planning—ensuring outputs are high quality, timely, lean, and aligned to business objectives. Business Analysis Leadership, lead business analysis activities across the portfolio, ensuring alignment with scope, value, and delivery. You’ll define and embed standards for requirements and documentation based on BABOK principles, while championing lean, value-driven approaches tailored to initiative complexity and stakeholder needs Team Leadership and Capability Uplift, lead, support, and develop a team of Business Analysts, focusing on performance, growth, and wellbeing. You’ll foster a collaborative, high-performing, and psychologically safe team culture that attracts and retains top talent, while driving capability uplift through coaching, feedback, and structured learning. Mobilisation and Portfolio Alignment, mobilise Business Analyst resources for new initiatives, ensuring the right fit based on skills, scope, and delivery model. You’ll work closely with Delivery Managers and stakeholders to align early on business needs and objectives, and contribute to initiative shaping, option analysis, and solution design during discovery. Stakeholder Management and Communication, build strong relationships with business owners, product leads, designers, architects, and delivery teams. You’ll ensure BA deliverables are clearly understood, approved, and reused where appropriate, while acting as a senior escalation point for analysis-related issues across the portfolio. Quality, Timeliness and Governance, set and monitor expectations for the quality, completeness, and traceability of BA artefacts and engagement across projects. You’ll drive timely delivery of BA inputs to support key milestones and governance, while leading continuous improvement and assurance of analysis practices across the squad. Collaboration Across Domains, work closely with Agile Transformation, Solution Design, Product Management, and Technology teams to embed BA capability within cross-functional squads. You’ll ensure the BA team helps shape and validate solutions that are feasible, valuable, and desirable, while supporting consistency of analysis methods and artefacts across domains. About you You are a seasoned Business Analyst with over five years of experience navigating complex delivery environments. With a strong foundation in business, IT, or a related field, you bring both technical expertise and leadership capability to the table. You’re passionate about building high-performing teams and have a proven track record of developing BA capability across diverse business units. Your approach to work is grounded in integrity and ethical decision-making. You actively foster a culture of transparency and accountability, ensuring the Fraud and Corruption Control Framework is effectively implemented within your area. You take ownership of identifying and reporting any concerns, contributing to a safe and ethical workplace. Technically, you're proficient with modern collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, and Office 365. You may also hold professional certifications like CBAP, PMI-PBA, or IIBA-AAC, and experience with platforms like Workday or PowerBI is a valuable bonus.
