ABOUT THE ROLE: The Indigenous Engagement Officer role is the crucial link between our First Nations staff and our Operational teams to ensure sustainable employment outcomes. You will support First Nations people throughout their employment journey with Wilson Group and increase the overall recruitment and retention of our mob. This position requires regular travel between sites to engage with Indigenous staff, including travel between states as needed. Key responsibilities of the role include: • Mentoring of existing First Nations employees - Coach and guidance for Indigenous staff members for career options, training opportunities, personal development, personal and workplace support. • Onboarding of new First Nations employees - introductions and post placement support including assistance with systems and processes as necessary. • Data and Administration analytics – Data is our friend, if you are an admin superstar who loves capturing data, stories, career plans and mentoring frameworks. Then this is the role for you. • Facilitation of the Making Tracks Program – Making Tracks is the flagship employment program for Wilson Security and has brought more than 150 First Nations people into the security industry. We need you to continue that success • Community Engagement – Represent Wilson Group in the community, building the awareness of our RAP and potential opportunities for collaboration. • Championing the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and Project Participation - Actively champion Wilson Group’s RAP by advocating for and supporting its commitments across the organisation. Contribute to both national and local project initiatives, as guided by the National Indigenous Programs Manager, to drive meaningful and measurable outcomes for First Nations peoples. SELECTION CRITERIA: • Strong strategic thinking abilities to develop and maintain Indigenous retention. • A proactive approach to problem-solving, by seeking the advice and perspective of others before taking decisive action. • Professional level of verbal and written communication skills. • Strong technological skills and an ability to adapt quickly to new databases. • Exceptional organisational skills with an ability to manage competing tasks rapidly and ensure deadlines are met under pressure. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish friendly and professional rapport with internal stakeholders and contribute to establishing common goals within the team.
