You’ll play a vital part in embedding risk into everyday decision-making, supporting both Line 1 and Line 2 teams, and helping align our Insurance strategy with our risk appetite. This role will suit someone who thrives on big-picture thinking, values continuous improvement, and has a passion for driving a strong, values-based risk culture. What you will be doing: Drive the long term risk and compliance strategy to improve risk maturity, further evolve our three lines of accountability model, and strengthen risk culture. Enhance and embed the RAC Insurance Risk & Compliance Frameworks, including policy and incident management tools. Partner with internal stakeholders to build awareness, capability, and education around risk and compliance. Lead system oversight and prioritisation for the Risk & Compliance platform, Protecht. Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing mentorship and direction. Manage vendor contracts related to the risk and compliance system. Prepare and deliver high-quality risk reporting to the Board, CEO, and senior leadership. Champion a strong and resilient risk culture across the organisation. What you will bring: Extensive experience leading risk and/or compliance teams in financial services, a regulated industry, or consulting (insurance exposure preferred). Strong working knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards, ASIC guidelines, the Corporations Act, and the General Insurance Code of Practice. Strategic mindset with the ability to influence, advise and challenge constructively. Proven ability to develop frameworks, write high-quality reports, and translate compliance into practical guidance. Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder engagement and written communication skills. Tertiary qualifications in insurance, risk management, or a related field (desirable). Professional membership with relevant industry bodies (desirable). What can we offer you?
