We now have an exciting opportunity available for a PMO Process Improvement Specialist to join our Technology team in our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office on a 12 Month maximum fixed term contract. The Technology PMO (Tech PMO) has underpinned and guided the delivery of Business & Technology projects for over 13 years at APA. It has governed and supported more than 500 projects through to successful completion. With changing stakeholder needs spurred by APA’s shifting business and technology environment, APA’s Tech PMO is evolving. Reporting to the Technology Performance and Governance Manager, you will be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives to redefine the Tech PMO’s mandate and engagement model. You will work in a team that provides business and project practitioner capability support and uplift through training and coaching, as well as consultancy and guidance of application and tailoring methodologies based on maturity level and complexity of programs and projects. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain a fit-for-purpose roadmap for competency and process improvements within the Technology PMO to support successful program and project delivery. Oversee and maintain standard frameworks, processes, tools, and artefacts that align with APA’s project execution maturity and EPMO requirements. Lead improvement initiatives to uplift project delivery and PMO processes, including process design, stakeholder consultation, training, adoption monitoring, and success measurement. Act as a trusted advisor and main contact for cross-practice frameworks, providing expert guidance on project management processes to program teams, stakeholders, and business leaders. Promote and champion consistent, standardised program and project management practices, ensuring compliance with frameworks, policies, and project deliverables. Collaborate with divisional centres of excellence, other PMOs, the EPMO, and communities of practice to share knowledge, manage documentation standards, and continuously improve Technology PMO materials in line with APA requirements. Measure program/project delivery maturity metrics with view to increase maturity and improve outcomes at APA – using financial and quantitative data to establish clear and measurable goals Maintain and consistently run Continuous Improvement process, including consultation with divisional portfolios and impacted stakeholders, relevant registers, and communication of any changes to project practitioners and relevant communities About You Handson experiences working in a Projects / PMO discipline. Strong thought leadership and strategic advisory skills, with direct experience in identifying, documenting, and implementing new processes, program and project standards. Experience and/or certification across traditional and agile project management methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, PRINCE2, SAFe, SCRUM) and practices Program/Project management skills and experience, plus significant knowledge of governance and reporting best practice with evidence of practical application Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders to enable empowered Program and Project decision making Strong collaboration and influencing skills, especially in working with distributed teams across all levels within APA Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking and execution skills Working at APA At APA we’re committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.
