The Role Join one of Australia’s most iconic fashion retailers as a Merchandise Planner and take ownership of high-volume, high-impact categories that directly influence revenue and margin performance. This is a commercially critical role where you’ll lead the execution of merchandise planning and inventory strategy delivering the right product mix, in the right location, at the right time. Your Impact End-to-End Planning Ownership : Manage the full inventory lifecycle from budgeting and open-to-buy (OTB) planning, through to allocation, replenishment and performance tracking. Sales and Margin Growth : Directly impact revenue by preparing and executing robust budget and OTB plans, as well as implementing promotional and markdown strategies to optimise sell-through and margin. Strategic Forecasting : Drive forecast accuracy and accountability in partnership with Buying, identifying growth opportunities and mitigating risk to ensure financial targets are met. Assortment Execution : Build and deliver data-driven assortment plans aligned with business strategy, localised by region and channel to drive conversion. Performance Reporting : Lead seasonal performance reviews, identifying commercial insights through detailed SKU, category and market analysis. Team Leadership : Influence and mentor a high-performing Merchandise Planning team, guiding them to deliver measurable improvements in sales, margin and stock turns. Retail Network Support : Engage directly with stores and warehouses to troubleshoot stock issues and elevate in-store performance. Ideal Candidate Proven experience in merchandise planning within a large-scale or fast-paced retail environment. Demonstrated success in delivering to sales, margin, and inventory KPIs. Commercially astute with strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels of the business. Advanced Excel capability and experience with leading merchandise planning systems. Strong influencing and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and driving business opportunities.
