Our team is dedicated to providing our guests with an exceptional dining experience and we are looking for a talented Chef to join our team. Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Indian cuisine and a strong background in preparing and cooking traditional Indian dishes. They will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, creating new and innovative dishes, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and execute the menu, ensuring a variety of traditional and modern Indian dishes are available - Oversee the kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating - Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation - Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed - Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all health and safety regulations - Create new and innovative dishes while also ensuring consistency in existing menu items - Collaborate with management to develop seasonal and special event menus - Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to established recipes and standards - Manage food costs and minimize waste - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve the menu and kitchen operations Qualifications and Skills: - Minimum of 1 year experience as a Chef, preferably in an Indian cuisine restaurant - Certificate IV in cookery or above - Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality - Excellent leadership and communication skills - Strong organisational and time management skills - Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays - Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations - Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for creating delicious dishes - Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other kitchen staff - Valid food handling and safety certification Salary and Benefits: The salary for this position is $76,000 to $82,000 per year plus superannuation.
