This initiative will revolutionise train services for customers traveling from Sydney to the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Blue Mountains, and the South Coast. This role will be based at our Mariyung Maintenance Facility, located in Kangy Angy NSW. About Your Role: The Management Accountant will provide comprehensive financial and accounting support for the New Intercity Fleet (NIF) business. This includes expertise in preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with CIMIC and UGL Economic Information System (EIS) requirements, and delivering actionable insights to assist with business planning, forecasting, and financial governance. The role contributes to maximising financial performance through collaboration with Managers on key financial reviews, identifying risks, and ensuring timely reporting and reconciliations. Key Responsibilities: Financial Support & Reporting: Establish appropriate budgets and reporting structures to support business needs. Insights & Dashboard Preparation\: Prepare and/or review dashboard reports to assist Managers in interpreting key financial data. Reconciliation Management: Perform management and review of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Invoice and Cash Management: Manage the invoice process and oversee cash collection activities. Risk Management & Opportunity Identification: Work closely with Managers to identify and report on risks and opportunities impacting the financial health of the division. Continuous Improvement: Provide recommendations to improve financial processes and reporting structures. About You\: You bring a wealth of relevant experience in business finance or accounting, preferably within a rail, automotive, military, aviation, defence, avionics, or any safety-critical environment. Key Skills and Experience: Proven ability to independently organise and prioritise multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced, high-demand environment with competing priorities. Strong PC skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables), PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite products. Hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems. Strong oral and written communication skills, including effective negotiation and influencing abilities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people at various levels, both internally and externally. Education & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is highly regarded but not essential. Professional designations such as CPA, CA, or CFA are highly valued but not mandatory.
