UAV Flight Control Programmer - Coaxial Rotorcraft Development We are seeking an experienced UAV Programmer with strong aerodynamics knowledge to join our client's innovative team developing cutting-edge rotorcraft technology. This role involves writing and modifying flight control logic code for an Embention Veronte autopilot system, specifically tailored for coaxial helicopter rotorhead aerodynamics and longitudinal thrust integration. As the UAV Flight Control Programmer, you will be instrumental in helping our client achieve their ambitious goal of building the world's fastest compound rotorcraft. This contract position offers the flexibility of remote work while contributing to groundbreaking aerospace technology. Key Responsibilities: Modify the existing Embention code to implement algorithms for coaxial rotorcraft flight Develop and adapt flight control laws for the Embention Veronte autopilot Optimise the aerodynamic performance of a coaxial helicopter rotorhead Integrate longitudinal thrust capabilities with thrust motors Develop code for simulation testing and subsequent field testing Refine and troubleshoot code based on test results Document all code modifications and development processes Requirements: 1-3 years of software development experience, particularly in flight control systems 12 years of experience in aerodynamics, with specific knowledge of rotorcraft dynamics 12 years of experience in aerospace systems 12 years of experience in test and evaluation methodologies 12 years of experience with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) Experience with Embention Veronte autopilot systems is highly desirable Strong understanding of flight control algorithms and their implementation Ability to work independently in a remote capacity Must be based in Australia Security clearance is advantageous, but not required Contract Details: Remote position based anywhere in Australia Immediate start available Contract duration until the end of January 2026 Possible extension (to be confirmed) Join this exciting project and contribute to pushing the boundaries of UAV technology in Australia!
