About the company Our client is a proactive Council dedicated to strategic growth and activation initiatives that benefit residents, visitors, and local businesses. About the role This role leads Council’s Economic Development functions with a core focus on regional activation, business development, investment attraction, grant coordination, and events. The Manager Regional Activation holds significant operational authority and leadership responsibility. Benefits Rostered Day Off every 3 weeks (can accrue up to 5 at a time) – equates to 17 days off a year Duties Lead the economic development portfolio, including supervision of the Economic Development Coordinator and team Lead major regional projects like the Special Activation Precinct and Inland Rail Drive CBD revitalisation and local economic engagement Oversee and coordinate Council’s grants strategy, including funding submissions and prioritisation Initiate and formalise partnerships with business groups, government agencies, tourism operators, and cultural organisations Represent Council in high-level stakeholder discussions to ensure alignment with the Delivery Program and Operational Plan Skills & experience Minimum 5 years experience in economic development or related field. Local Government experience strongly preferred. Demonstrate s trong leadership experience Strong understanding of regional development drivers and the ability to adapt strategies.
