You will be an innovative lecturer focusing on high quality teaching, scholarship and research. This position is part of an exciting growth initiative at Torrens University with a suite of contemporary information technology and cybersecurity courses at Bachelor and Postgraduate level to complement existing software engineering courses. Information technology, software engineering and other emerging technology disciplines are located within the Design and Creative Technology Faculty. The convergence of information technology with design, digital media, games and entertainment, often enabled by artificial intelligence and smart technologies, is an important point of difference for Torrens University and candidates for this position should have a strong IT background but preferably with teaching and research interests that intersect these creative disciplines. In this role you will: Manage small or large, blended/hybrid and or/online classes, as well as monitor and ensure participation Manage your own and the student’s time and attention to learning effectively Prepare and review teaching materials and make any recommendations necessary as per organisational policy and procedures Utilise learning technology effectively and embed in subject delivery, Engage in student centered learning and teaching practices including, but not limited to, flipped learning, maintaining an active and positive education experience Ensure the learning experience complies with the strategic goals of the organisation ; for example: industry immersion, student employability and authentic experiences To read more about the role please click here to View Job Description. To be part of our talent community and to align with the criteria required for this role if selected, you must hold: A PhD in Information Technology or related fields. At least three years of relevant industry experience. A demonstrated track record of high-quality teaching in IT or related field. An emerging research track record. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to deliver Face-to-Face classes in any one of our campuses located in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
