Their analytics and strategy teams are tasked with making sense of volatile markets and supporting data-driven decisions across risk, pricing, and commercial operations. About the Role This role provides wholesale market insight and commercial analysis to internal stakeholders across pricing, sales, and risk. You’ll be responsible for tracking and interpreting key market developments—spot and forward prices, regulatory changes, demand and supply dynamics—and translating them into actionable insights. Your work will support pricing decisions, portfolio positioning, and broader strategic planning. The position offers exposure to senior commercial leaders and provides the opportunity to influence real-time decision-making across energy portfolios. Key Responsibilities Monitor NEM and wholesale market performance and identify emerging risks and opportunities Provide forecasting and scenario analysis to support pricing and hedging decisions Support energy procurement and portfolio management strategy with data and insights Develop internal market reports and dashboards for commercial and executive audiences Partner with sales and product teams to inform customer pricing and product design Interpret regulatory and market rule changes and assess commercial implications Collaborate across trading, analytics, and regulatory affairs to provide integrated perspectives Support margin optimisation and performance tracking across energy portfolios Business Coverage National Electricity Market (NEM) Wholesale electricity and gas procurement C&I customer portfolio pricing and strategy Energy policy and market rule interpretation Candidate Profile 5–10 years of experience in wholesale energy markets, analytics, or trading support Strong understanding of NEM operations, market design, and price drivers Advanced skills in data analysis, modelling, and forecasting Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualisation tools (Power BI or similar) Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts clearly Experience supporting commercial or trading teams highly regarded Proactive, commercially aware, and collaborative in working style What’s on Offer Work with one of Australia’s largest energy portfolios Strategic role supporting pricing, procurement, and trading Highly collaborative team and strong executive access Competitive salary and long-term career development Permanent position based in Melbourne To express your interest, please submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining your wholesale market experience.
