The Role We are currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join the O’Brien team on an initial 12-month fixed term contract. Key duties and responsibilities include: Take a leading role in the annual preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns, including year-end audit, income tax and fringe-benefit tax returns Provide support to the financial control framework during IT transformation project Performing month-end tasks, reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigating reporting variances Mentoring and collaborating with 1 x Accountant and 2 x Assistant Accountants Building a strong accounting foundation across all divisions and demonstrate and ability to communicate, reconcile and resolve issues. Monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring any variances are actioned and cleared each month Actively contributing to month-end stakeholder meetings to assist in the ongoing accrual posting process Adhering to a financial reporting timetable and working with the team in ensuring deliverables are met Liaising with O’Brien branches, accounts payable, accounts receivable, commercial business partners and bank as required Preparing the monthly 14-cash flow forecast and providing commentary on prior forecast variances Ownership of the accounting for stock process, including meeting with stakeholders across the business for the monthly stock forecast and assessing any volatility in monthly stock movement The Perks O’Brien® is committed to giving you fantastic benefits, a platform for development and working with you to grow your career.
