About the Role As Strategy & Development Manager – Retail Energy, you will lead the creation and execution of a new energy retail proposition. This includes owning the strategic vision, business model, commercial structure, and product design, while managing key dependencies across digital, regulatory, pricing, and customer operations. You will lead a small but agile team of specialists and play a hands-on role in translating customer insight, market dynamics, and internal capabilities into a compelling retail energy offering. Working closely with senior executives and functional leaders, you will oversee the roadmap through key stages of business case development, build, and launch. This role is suited to a commercially minded leader with strong strategy and product development experience in retail energy or customer-centric markets. Key Responsibilities Develop the strategic framework for a new retail energy offering, aligned with customer needs and regulatory context Lead business model design, pricing strategy, and customer proposition development Build and lead a cross-functional team delivering core components of the offer Drive business case development and present to senior leadership and investment committees Manage product development, customer journeys, and go-to-market readiness Engage stakeholders across technology, operations, legal, regulatory, and digital Oversee commercial governance and manage external vendor or partnership inputs Monitor industry trends, competitor moves, and emerging customer expectations Deliver a market-ready product that differentiates in a competitive energy landscape Business Coverage Retail energy strategy and product development End-to-end ownership of proposition build and delivery Team leadership and cross-functional collaboration Go-to-market and launch planning Commercial and regulatory alignment in energy retail Candidate Profile You are a strategic thinker and proven delivery leader with experience in building new propositions in energy, utilities, or adjacent customer markets. You bring commercial depth, a structured mindset, and comfort operating across ambiguity and complexity.
