About the role Reporting to the Executive Director, the Strategic Adviser role will provide high level strategic support and advice, lead and manage strategic projects and be accountable for the timely delivery of products across the branch. The Strategic Adviser requires the ability to proactively develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, using influence and negotiation skills, alongside effective written and verbal communication skills, to support the provision of accurate, timely and audience-appropriate advice. About You To be considered for the role, you must be able to: Provide high-quality, timely, and strategic advice to support decision-making by the Executive Director. Prepare reports, presentations, and briefings to ensure that the Executive Director is well-informed on critical matters. Lead and manage a small team to support the Executive Director with execution of responsibilities including attendance at meetings, approval of products and appropriate briefings on issues impacting the portfolio. Lead the development and dissemination of internal communications, and develop and maintain relations with key internal and external stakeholders and provide information about the branch's direction, issues and requirements to ensure appropriate information flow. Identify and assess potential risks that could impact the branch's performance or reputation, advising the Executive Director on strategies for risk mitigation. Provide oversight on risk management processes and ensure that key risks are monitored and managed proactively. Oversee the flow of briefs and other materials that require Executive Director approval, ensuring they are submitted in a timely manner and meet high standards of quality. This includes reviewing and providing feedback on the content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with portfolio priorities, and making sure that all necessary information is included for informed decision-making. Additionally, ensure that key deliverables are presented in a concise and professional manner, facilitating efficient approval processes while maintaining rigorous quality control.
