We’re known for our authentic sweet crêpes, savoury buckwheat galettes, croque-monsieur, fresh salads, rustic French breakfasts, house-made pastries, and seasonal chef’s specials. With a loyal local following and busy tourist trade, we pride ourselves on quality food and warm hospitality. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our growing team. About the Role The Chef will be responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking French-inspired dishes across breakfast, lunch, and occasional special events. You’ll be working with fresh ingredients to produce traditional and modern French offerings including: Sweet crêpes with fillings like house-made salted caramel, berry compote, lemon & sugar Savoury galettes filled with combinations like ham, cheese & egg, ratatouille, smoked salmon with crème fraîche Classic bistro items such as croque-monsieur and quiche Seasonal salads and mains inspired by regional French cuisine French-style brunch dishes and baked goods Chef’s specials using fresh, local ingredients Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook dishes in line with the set menu and seasonal specials Oversee food service during operating hours and special events Ensure food quality, portion consistency, and visual presentation Maintain a clean and compliant kitchen environment Manage stock levels, ordering, and contribute to menu planning Train and supervise kitchen staff where required Work Schedule Full-time role averaging 38 hours per week, including weekdays and weekends on a rotating roster. Additional hours may be required during special events or holiday periods. Skills Strong skills in French or European-style cooking Ability to work efficiently and independently during service periods Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene practices Team-oriented with good communication and leadership skills Reliable, self-motivated, and passionate about food presentation and flavour Qualifications and Experience Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and/or Diploma of Hospitality Management (or equivalent) Minimum 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience as a chef Experience with French cuisine or café-style service is highly regarded Only candidates with full unrestricted working rights in Australia will be considered.
