We are seeking a skilled Communications Technician to join our Field Services team. This position will support communications infrastructure at power generation sites throughout the Latrobe Valley. It’s an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician to work on high-reliability, mission-critical systems across a range of dynamic and essential infrastructure environments. Position Overview The Communications Technician will play a key role in the installation, servicing, and support of digital two-way radio and communications systems across various power generation sites. This is a hands-on field-based role that requires a combination of technical ability, autonomy, and a strong safety mindset. Key Responsibilities Install, service, and decommission two-way radios and related systems both on-site and in vehicles Diagnose and repair faults in communication infrastructure to high technical standards Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and site inspections Assist with project delivery including site surveys, commissioning, and documentation Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and site stakeholders Maintain compliance with WHS regulations and site access protocols Participate in an on-call roster (where applicable) Required Skills & Experience Minimum 2 years’ experience in communications, electronics, or related field service roles Hands-on experience with Motorola systems (MOTOTRBO or similar) highly desirable Strong understanding of radio systems, IP networking, and cabling standards Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills Ability to work autonomously in variable site environments Excellent communication and reporting skills Qualifications & Requirements Certificate II/III in Telecommunications or equivalent trade qualification Unrestricted driver’s licence – essential Construction Induction Certification (White Card) Open cabling registration – preferred Working at Heights and EWP tickets – preferred Familiarity with WHS in industrial or power generation settings Why Join the team?
