JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY We’re seeking a driven and engaging Assistant Community Manager to join our team and support the delivery of an exceptional resident experience for Moore St, Canberra. In this hands-on, rewarding role, you’ll help lead the team by example and play a key part in building a positive, inclusive, and well-run community our residents truly enjoy being a part of. JOB DESCRIPTION Act as a role model for our core values, leading by example in daily interactions Step up as Acting Community Manager when needed, keeping operations smooth and professional Build relationships with residents, proactively seeking feedback and going the extra mile to enhance their experience Support resident satisfaction and retention by handling queries, feedback and online reviews with care and professionalism Help manage rent collection, monitor arrears, and promote lease renewals Conduct regular inspections and ensure tenancy management processes are followed Oversee vendor invoices, communicate with finance teams, and ensure compliance with company policies Perform regular walk-throughs to ensure safety, cleanliness, and presentation of the property Contribute to planning and hosting resident events and community activities Carry out leasing activities such as viewings, responding to enquiries, and converting leads Stay informed about local amenities, entertainment options, and community resources Participate in the on-call emergency support roster as needed Support the preparation of budgets and monthly reports alongside the Community Manager To be successful in this role, you should have skills including: Demonstrated experience in customer service and customer facing roles, preferably gained within residential property or hospitality setting Confidence in handling tenant relations and resolving issues Knowledge of tenancy legislation, WHS regulations, and property operations. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills — with cultural awareness and the ability to engage diverse student cohorts. Organised, agile, and comfortable navigating fast-paced, high-capacity environments. Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems. Compliance & Licensing – Must hold a valid driver’s license. The role requires eligibility for a National Criminal History Check and a Working with Children check.
