JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY We’re on the lookout for a motivated and people-centric Community Manager to lead one of our thriving student accommodation communities, Moore St in Canberra. This is a high-impact role where you’ll be the driving force behind a safe, supportive, and dynamic living environment - shaping daily operations while nurturing a true sense of belonging for our residents. You’ll take full ownership of the property’s performance, leading an onsite team, optimising resources, and cultivating a safe, welcoming and engaging community that enhances student experience and creates belonging. Build Community Connections : Develop strong relationships with students, universities, and local stakeholders to foster a vibrant and engaged community. Drive Resident Engagement: Actively connect with residents, gather feedback, and implement initiatives that boost satisfaction and retention. Plan Memorable Events: Oversee the planning and delivery of engaging events that contribute to a dynamic and supportive living environment. Lead Marketing and Leasing Strategies: Partner with marketing to implement localised campaigns, track market trends, and drive occupancy and revenue growth. Deliver Operational Excellence: Ensure seamless tenancy management, effective vendor coordination, and well-maintained facilities aligned with compliance standards. Champion Financial Accountability: Prepare budgets, monitor financial performance, attend P&L reviews, and manage costs to meet business targets. Promote Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with WHS standards, manage incident reporting, and maintain a safe living environment for all. Coach and Develop Teams: Provide mentoring, set clear goals, and support team development to drive high performance and future succession. Stay Ahead of the Curve: Identify opportunities for operational improvements and stay updated on industry trends, compliance, and student housing best practices. About You You're an experienced leader who thrives in fast-paced, people-focused environments and is ready to take charge of a dynamic student accommodation community. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in property management, hospitality, customer service, or sales. Prior experience in multi-family housing or student accommodation is highly regarded. Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and foster a culture of service excellence. Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills, with a track record of achieving revenue and occupancy goals. Knowledge of tenancy legislation, WHS regulations, and property operations. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with cultural awareness and the ability to engage diverse student cohorts. Organised, agile, and comfortable navigating fast-paced, high-capacity environments. Confident in Microsoft Office and property management systems. Compliance & Licensing – Must hold a valid driver’s license. The role requires eligibility for a National Criminal History Check and a Working with Children check.
