Complete Nursing and Home Care QLD We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Disability Support Worker to provide essential care for a participant with high-complex needs. This is a full-time position, and we are looking for someone who can commit to supporting this participant on an ongoing basis. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in disability support Key Responsibilities: Personal Care and Assistance Assist with morning routines, including getting the participant out of bed, changing from pajamas to clothes, and preparing for the day. Prepare and serve meals, ensuring all dietary requirements are met. Provide assisted walking to the breakfast table and other areas of the home as needed. Toileting and Hygiene Support Assist with changing incontinence pads as required. Provide showering assistance, particularly in cases of bowel movements. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene by washing dishes and making the participant’s bed. Seizure Management Monitor for seizures and provide appropriate care, including staying calm and reassuring the participant during mild seizures. Ensure the participant’s safety during severe seizures by preventing falls and maintaining calm communication. Understand that seizures lasting between 4 to 10 minutes are typical for the participant, with an ambulance required only for prolonged or continuous seizures. General Support Set up and maintain the participant’s recliner for comfort throughout the day. Support participation in daily activities, including watching TV and other leisure pursuits. Follow a structured routine while remaining adaptable to the participant’s changing needs. Communication and Reporting Maintain open communication with the participant’s family and healthcare providers. Promptly report any changes in the participant’s condition or care requirements. Qualifications and Requirements: Experience working with high-complexity participants in disability care (minimum 2 years). A minimum of a Diploma in Disability Care or a similar industry qualification. Strong understanding of personal care, seizure management, and incontinence care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Compassionate, patient, and committed to providing high-quality care.
