This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team for a 12-month contract and build on your foundational knowledge in a referral and emergency care setting. The Nurse Internship Program is designed to: Provide an understanding of a multidisciplinary referral and emergency hospital with on-the-job training Build on your current knowledge and skill set while developing a deeper understanding of the specific roles and responsibilities within a specialist hospital setting. Facilitate the transition from supervised to independent specialist nursing Prepare you for future potential full-time or part-time employment in a specialist hospital Throughout the program, you will rotate through clinical shifts in our intensive care unit, our emergency room, and our hospital care wards. You will nurse patients being managed by our specialist teams ( surgery, internal medicine, neurology, critical care and anaesthesia ) and learn the art of triage and stabilization in our emergency service. These rotations will allow you to challenge yourself and gain valuable experience. You will collaborate with a supportive team of experienced nurses and specialists, all dedicated to helping you grow and succeed. Having the opportunity to work closely with our two ECC Veterinary Technician Specialist Nurses who will act as mentors and will facilitate your training during the year. In addition to this, we also have a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anaesthesia who will support additional learning endeavours! Why apply for a SASH Nurse Internship? To be considered for this role, candidates must demonstrate: Hold a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Be a team player with creative problem-solving skills. Have a positive attitude and a willingness to develop new skills. This is a 12-month position, which includes rotating shifts, weekends, after hours, and public holidays. Upon completion, some nurses may be considered for permanent roles in one of our departments, depending on availability.
