Key Duties and Accountabilities:- Provide strategic direction and leadership for a team focused on the collection, collation, and analysis of financial local government data to inform advice to Councils and the development of programs and policy initiatives across Local Government Division.- Lead the delivery of best practice funding and borrowing analysis, risk management and approval processes for local governments in accordance with the requirements of the Statutory Bodies Financial Arrangements Act 1982 and Local Government Act 2009.- Drive collaboration across the Division and the Department and proactively lead the use of data and performance information captured to identify trends to inform strategic decision-making and client service provision.- Drive the use of data to support client service delivery to local governments and key stakeholders including other State government agencies, Queensland Treasury Corporation and industry associations to ensure continual improvement in funding and investment outcomes.- Provide strategic advice and leadership regarding funding options and tools available to local governments, with a view to ensuring 'fit for purpose' solutions which strengthen local communities.- Drive the State's focus on sustainability for local governments encompassing local government capacity building in the area of financial compliance and sustainability.- Lead liaison and engagement with local government clients to ensure service delivery outcomes are achieved.- Critical analysis of internal processes, across the Division, with a view to streamlining processes to remove red tape and ensure the best outcomes for local governments.- Provide collaborative and supportive management to the Financial Analysis, Assurance and Systems team and to support a positive team culture and actively lead performance conversations and development activities with team members.- Other duties as directed and required.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/647463/25Closing Date: Tuesday, 22 July 2025
