Your Opportunity As a Housing Case Manager, you will play a key role in supporting single men and women in the Darwin region who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to secure sustainable, long-term housing. Working under general direction and drawing on your specialist knowledge, you will support clients as they pursue education, employment, and wellbeing goals that enable them to transition into stable, independent tenancies. This is an on-site position, requiring direct and consistent engagement with clients and properties across multiple locations. This role forms part of the Darwin Region Accommodation Management Service , which provides supported accommodation and intensive case management, working closely with Territory Housing and a network of external service providers to foster greater stability, dignity, and community engagement for those in need. Your Key Responsibilities Respond to referrals, conduct holistic initial assessments, and communicate the purpose and scope of the program to new clients. Develop person-centred, culturally appropriate case plans that identify goals, strengths, and support networks to enhance overall wellbeing. Provide tenancy support and education tailored to individual client needs, covering topics related to maintaining tenancy. Maintain regular contact with clients and coordinate timely referrals to appropriate services, supporting them to develop independent tenancy skills. Conduct tenancy inductions, perform property inspections, and manage tenancy breaches, working in collaboration with NT Housing and subcontractors. Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and actively participate in inter-agency case meetings and tenancy advisory groups. Support program administration by maintaining accurate documentation, conducting surveys, and contributing to reporting requirements, including rental arrears and waitlist management. Requirements for Success A relevant degree (e.g., in Community Services) with at least one year of experience, or an associated diploma with relevant experience. Demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, including housing instability, AOD use, mental health, and family violence. Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain collaborative working relationships. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client information systems, with strong documentation and reporting capabilities. Well-developed time management, judgement, and problem-solving skills to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in community housing or property management is desirable, along with the ability to guide clients through NT Housing applications and tenancy processes. First Aid Certificate Full driver licence with no restrictions Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
