Job Overview Hycast is seeking a talented and experienced Metallurgist to join our dynamic team in Smithfield, NSW 2164. The Metallurgist will be responsible for chemical analysis, production planning, operator training, and process optimisation within the furnace area, while maintaining compliance standards to support high-quality production and a safe work environment. Duties and Responsibilities Chemical analysis of daily production Develop and maintain melting and process routines and process settings Provide hands-on support to resolve operational problems with melting process and equipment Provide operator training and production support for melting alloy and related processes Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all improvement aspects within the furnace area Develop and improve methods of melting, alloying, and pouring of metals Production schedule planning of furnace area Ensure safe work environment Implementation, reporting, measuring and monitoring of ISO 9001 QMS, AS/NZS 4801 OH&S & IM, ISO 14001 EMS, and ISO 17025 NATA Chemical Testing. Skills Required Hold a tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or equivalent; Have 2 years experience in similar roles; Understanding of metallurgical principles and practices relevant to metal production Knowledge of conducting and interpreting chemical analyses of metals and alloys. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and part of a team Excellent work ethic Positive & proactive attitude Working Arrangements Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year plus superannuation
