UQ Library This is a full-time continuing position with salary in the range $91,658 - $98,330 (HEW 6), plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. UQ Library is looking for a creative, self-directed thinker excited to explore AI and automation in metadata and other Library workflows. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in creating and enhancing metadata in Library systems. Based at our picturesque and conveniently located St Lucia campus About This Opportunity Reporting to the Manager, Resource Management, this role is key to maximizing the value of scholarly information resources. This position delivers a range of services that directly support learning, discovery, research, and engagement, aligning with Library strategic priorities across various locations. Key responsibilities will include: Resource Acquisition & Discovery Acquire and enable the discovery and access to diverse information resources crucial for teaching, learning, and research. Stakeholder Engagement & Procurement Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external clients, vendors, and publishers, while implementing best practice procurement strategies that meet University financial and policy requirements. Information System Management & Reporting Update and manage records within academic library information systems, including electronic and print resources, metadata control, and collection maintenance. This also involves analysing complex statistics and generating evidence-based reports to evaluate resource value. Project Leadership & Team Contribution Lead or assist in the development and maintenance of Library documentation and projects, including supervising small teams, while contributing effectively to team planning and goals. The University of Queensland Library reserves the right to transfer staff to any of its services. About You Essential Degree/qualifications and/or relevant experience. Demonstrated professional experience in an academic, special, or research library, including advanced knowledge and skills in leveraging current library technologies for resource support, information service delivery, and collection management. Proven experience in library information systems and the application of metadata standards. This is complemented by demonstrated knowledge of information resources, services, and publishing trends relevant to academic libraries. Ability to effectively resolve problems and provide client-focused information assistance. This includes self-motivation, initiative, and a proven capacity to work flexibly, both independently and collaboratively, in a busy, dynamic, and changing environment while meeting deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated emotional intelligence and the ability to negotiate, consult, and effectively build relationships. You will be an excellent team player, working collaboratively with a positive, cooperative, and inclusive mindset to engage diverse internal and external stakeholders. Desirable Relevant qualifications for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association. Experience in leveraging AI and automation in Library workflows. You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
