We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Planning and Environment Advisor to join us in our Energy Solutions team in Perth, WA on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Planning & Environment Manager, you will provide support to gain environmental approvals for the development of large-scale renewable energy and power transmission projects in the Pilbara. This role understands interaction between the technical requirements and design elements of project infrastructure and the statutory and stakeholder requirements for a project. Key Responsibilities Assist the business to secure all environmental approvals required for new projects, along with supporting the business development team during ideation, pre-feasibility and feasibility phases for prospective development projects . Support the construction team to ensure all approval obligations are complied with during construction. Assess strategies and feasibility for approvals options required for development projects, whilst understanding the tenure, heritage and statutory approval requirements for new projects across the Pilbara Contribute to the development and design of innovative land access and impact mitigation strategies to provide a competitive advantage in winning new projects Provide support for project development through engaging with external stakeholders, regulators and community and industry representative bodies Support scheduling, and manage aspects of the statutory approvals workstream for key projects, co ordinating specialist consultants and site surveys/investigations as necessary Understand and respect indigenous cultural heritage and how this may apply to site studies/investigations and certain approval requirements Your background Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (for example Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning, Construction, Sustainability) Demonstrated experience working on planning and coordinating field surveys and technical environmental studies, Environmental Impact Assessments and / or other related aprpovals, along with experience in Indigenous relationships, Indigenous engagement and heritage management Understanding of Project development experience within the power and/or renewable energy industry or mining/infrastructure industry Experience on projects from $10m to $100m The ability and willingness to travel to the Pilbara, including remote areas Working at APA At APA we’re committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.
