We have a recruitment practice that hires our internal consultants and also finds contractors and permanent staff for our clients. We have multiple engagement models with our clients from outsourced projects/solutions to co-sourced teams of people to individuals. Our goal is to be the supplier of choice to large corporations and government departments for external IT solution expertise and labour. About the role Our client, based in Brisbane, is expanding their development team for a large project. Delivery Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems using C++ and SQL Server. Write high-quality, well-tested, object-oriented code that meets performance and reliability standards. Contribute to the architecture and development of large, complex, and scalable backend systems. Work with .NET Core where applicable to support integration and service layers. Apply Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, XP) to deliver iterative and incremental improvements. Implement and support authentication and API standards such as OpenID Connect, OpenAPI, and OAuth. Follow DevOps practices to ensure smooth deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of applications. Use CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage code and automate delivery pipelines. Collaborate using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) for task tracking and documentation. Contribute to front-end development and infrastructure where needed. Participate in the design and implementation of development standards and procedures to improve delivery efficiency. Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Maintain and review software development lifecycle (SDLC) artefacts. Provide system support, including troubleshooting and liaising with support teams and third-party providers. Estimate development effort and contribute to release planning. Ensure adherence to software development best practices to maintain code quality and system reliability. Qualifications and experience: 5 years’ experience in complex application development and support environments. Strong proficiency in C++ and SQL Server. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and ability to write high-quality, well-tested code. Proven experience developing large, complex backend systems. Experience with .NET Core framework. Familiarity with authentication and API protocols such as OpenID Connect, OpenAPI, and OAuth. Strong grasp of DevOps practices and tools, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing. Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, XP) and ability to promote agile practices within teams. Advanced user of Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence). Desirable: Experience with front-end development and related infrastructure. Good understanding of the IT&T industry, including current technology trends and best practices.
