What you'll do Perform pre-analytical processes consistently and accurately, by maintaining focus and competence in the various areas within the work unit. Develop knowledge and expertise in handling specimens through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities. Work independently, and assist with laboratory duties as required, to meet or exceed an effective and efficient pathology service. Participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient care. Work with independence and professionalism and demonstrate sound problem-solving skills. Perform all quality duties relating to the role including document control, record keeping and appropriate use of internal quality control systems. About you We are searching for someone who has: Demonstrated experience in or the ability to rapidly learn pre-analytical and post-analytical clinical laboratory tasks. Proven ability to solve problems and show initiative in the workplace. Strong attention to detail, ability to focus in a busy, complex environment. Highly developed customer focus with experience dealing with a variety of people and a high-level of awareness of impact of the individual on the overall customer experience. Understanding of laboratory quality systems and the requirements of NATA accreditation and ISO certification. Demonstrated high level skills, or ability to rapidly acquire in the use of AUSLAB and ieMR with intermediate keyboarding skills particularly for data entry. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive team environment. Demonstrated ability to contribute to quality and service improvement activities in accordance with National Association of Testing Authority/International Standardisation Organisation (NATA/ISO) accreditation / certification. Ability to work additional shifts to support planned and unplanned leave within the team. Proven ability to manage time effectively in a highly process driven environment with competing priorities.
