Your key accountabilities The core capability requirements for this role are: - Provide high quality, consultative, timely and well-researched advice to senior management in relation to strategy, policy, planning, legislation and other issues of importance to the QPS.- Identify and analyse complex policy and legislative issues and develop practical evidence-based responses or solutions that support QPS objectives and/or contribute to the achievement of whole of government priorities.- Lead the delivery of legislative and policy projects and contribute to the Branch's positive work culture by acting as an effective Team Leader.- Prepare and oversee the development of complex, high-level documents, such as Cabinet submissions, drafting instructions for bills/regulations, explanatory notes, human rights statements of compatibility, options papers, reports, briefings and sensitive correspondence for the Minister, Executive Leadership Team, other Senior Departmental leaders and a range of diverse audiences.- Build and maintain effective networks and relationships internally, across Queensland Government and with key external stakeholders to inform policydevelopment and assist in the on-going development of improved safety outcomes for the Queensland community.- Support the team in relation to the development and analysis of policy and legislative reform processes, including interpreting and analysing legislation and supporting parliamentary and committee processes. Role Requirements: Qualification - - There are no mandatory requirements for this role however, experience and/or qualifications in law, criminology, policing or a similar criminal justice related field will be considered favourably.
