Based at our picturesque and conveniently located St Lucia campus About This Opportunity Join UQ Library as a tech-savvy and collaborative information professional in a pivotal new role dedicated to enhancing the management of born-digital and digitised archives and special collections. This position focuses on ensuring the Library expertly manages its unique digital content across its full lifecycle, from acquisition to online engagement, and that our systems and practices evolve to meet the needs of our users, now and in the future Reporting directly to the Director, Collections and Digital Services, you will be instrumental in co-designing and implementing processes and platforms, playing a vital role as the Library builds long-term digital curation capacity and capability. Key responsibilities will include : Digital Collections Expertise & Strategy Provide subject matter expertise on current and future platforms for collection management, digital asset management, discovery, and digital preservation. Advise on digital curation policy and practice, contributing to a Library-wide digital preservation program. Workflow Integration & User Engagement Undertake research, analysis, and testing to recommend ways to embed collections in user digital workflows, improve online engagement with special collections, and help staff integrate new tools and methods. Project Leadership & Operational Planning Coordinate and participate in Library projects, contribute to strategic and operational planning, provide expert advice to senior management, and develop Library documentation, reports, and statistical information. Industry Trends & Representation Build and share knowledge of current industry trends, products, services, changing user needs, and emerging risks. Represent the Library and contribute to relevant communities of practice, including the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC). About You Hold an archives, library or information management, with relevant digital curation experience. Possess well-developed digital skills, ideally including experience with collections management systems, metadata management for discovery and access, digital content workflows, and online communication tools. Demonstrate knowledge of copyright, privacy, licensing, and cultural access protocols. Exhibit excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, and experience producing high-quality reports, procedures, and documentation. Proven experience in managing cross-team projects, including developing and implementing communications, change, and training plans. Possess high-level analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work flexibly and independently in a changing environment. You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
