The opportunity We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Psychologist or Mental Health Social Worker to join our team at our headspace, Hawthorn. This is a Permanent Part-Time 0.9 EFT position. You will provide counselling, family therapy, and Single Session Consultations to young people, carers, and families, employing a trauma-informed family therapy approach to enhance mental health and wellbeing outcomes at both headspace Hawthorn. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, collaboratively developing goals with clients, and ensuring they are connected to essential support networks. Additionally, you will deliver educational and support groups to young people and/or family and carers. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and families, with services delivered both in person and via telehealth. What you will be doing Key Responsibilities Deliver individual counselling to young people (12-25years) and family/carers following evidence-informed practice principles Ensure that young people, family/carers are able to participate in collaborative shared care, which includes (but not limited to): participation in care team meetings, development of collaborative care plans, sharing information with care team members and involving their family/carers in their care plan where appropriate Actively participate and work cooperatively within the multidisciplinary team, collaborative partner organisations and with young people, family/carers, referrers and other stakeholders What you will bring Key Selection Criteria Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology or Social Work Current registration with AHPRA as a psychologist or registration with the AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker Demonstrated experience working in youth, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, community or similar health services Experience and recognised training in clinical risk assessment and management (including suicide risk assessment) Good knowledge and understanding of the youth mental health and related services sector Attributes we value: Genuine interest and passion working with young people and their family/friends An approach that aligns with trauma-informed care principles of welcome, hope and empathy when working with young people and their family/friends Skills in working with young people across the 12- 25-year age group and a range of developmental stages Strong communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management and prioritisation skills Demonstrated ability to work creatively and respectfully with young people from a diverse range of social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, including LGBTIQA, culturally and linguistically diverse, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities Demonstrated behaviours consistent with AccessHC values Please click the web link to view our culture and benefits: https://accesshc.org.au/culture-and-benefits Apply Now Submit your application including your resume and cover letter addressing the selection criteria.
