To be competent and reliable in the performance of all routine radionuclide and PET scanning procedures. This includes: Ensuring patient has consultation form requesting scanning procedure. Radiopharmacy duties - Reconstitution, dispensing, calibrating and labelling of the appropriate radiopharmaceutical for scan. Maintenance of daily patient log book in radiopharmacy area. Receive and record all incoming radioisotope orders as per Radiation Control Regulation. Injection of prepared radiopharmaceutical as appropriate for scan required for each patient. To be familiar with the operation of all equipment.Ensure that top quality scans are presented to the physicians to check and report upon.To be competent in ensuring appropriate acquisition by computers of quantitative studies. To be competent in data-processing of quantitative studies using all different types of computers.To be available for early roster and competent to carry out daily quality control on gamma camera.Train students rostered under their supervision.Treat patients with consideration and kindness.Communicate and cooperate with all staff in the department to maintain quality care. To be competent and reliable in the administration of radioiodine for therapy. This includes: Checking and administration of radioactive iodine therapy does.Monitoring of patient for required discharge level.Monitoring of patient room for availability of use.Fill out radioiodine record sheet in accordance with Radiation Control Regulation Guidelines. To be competent and reliable in preparation for other radionuclide therapy eg 89Sr chloride. Check dose and calibration data with administering Physician.Draw up dose for administration.Dispose of all waste appropriately Labelling, White Cell Labelling. Aseptic or sterile technique is used as applicable.Correct patient identification.Ensure no two in-vitro labelling procedures are carried out simultaneously Selection Criteria Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiation science (Nuclear Medicine) or equivalent qualifications recognised by the accreditation board of the Australian and New Zealand society of Nuclear Medicine.Reliability in the performance of routine scanning procedures.Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.Experience in Paediatrics.
