About the Role This is a pivotal time for sector development as they implement their 2025–2030 Strategic Plan. The Sector Development Manager / Learning & Development Manager will drive the growth of training and workforce capacity building across the DFV service system—from prevention through to response. This leadership role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive Learning and Development (L&D) strategy , including fee-for-service training opportunities and partnerships. You will oversee a team delivering high-impact training programs and sector development projects that enhance the knowledge, skillsets, and trauma-informed practice of frontline workers. Key to the role is deep knowledge of DFV, adult education, and strategic project delivery. You will also engage with stakeholders across the government, community, and private sectors, advocating for the ongoing learning needs of the workforce. Key Responsibilities Design and implement a sector-wide L&D strategy aligned to 2025–30 vision Lead and support a team to deliver capacity-building projects, training, and resources Build strong cross-sector relationships and manage fee-for-service training initiatives Evaluate impact, identify gaps, and adapt training based on feedback and sector needs Manage budgets, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement Support workforce development initiatives across the DFV response and prevention spectrum Collaborate with colleagues on prevention, policy, advocacy and revenue diversification About You You are a values-driven, strategic thinker with: At least 5 years’ experience in L&D strategy and delivery Demonstrated project management and team leadership skills A strong understanding of DFV and the social services sector Experience in business development, fee-for-service offerings, and funding diversification High-level communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills A trauma-informed and intersectional approach to training and development Flexibility to manage responsibilities beyond L&D where needed Essential Criteria Tertiary qualifications in education, social policy, or related discipline Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to obtain) Experience working in or with DFV, NFP, or peak body organisations is highly desirable A commitment to feminist values and social justice principles What We Offer Flexible and hybrid work arrangements Salary packaging and professional development support A collaborative, inclusive, and empowering team culture The chance to lead and shape strategic L&D initiatives across the sector Employee wellbeing programs, mentoring, and opportunities for growth
