Join the Middle Office team which is responsible for looking after middle-office functions for multiple trading desks across the globe. Asset classes covered include derivatives on Cash Equities, Fixed Income, FX and Commodities. As a Middle Office Analyst you will regularly liaise with a range of departments across the business, including the trading floor, finance, risk, management and software development. You will also develop relationships with third parties such as Clearers, Exchanges and Brokers. The role will be based in Sydney but will work closely with the existing Middle Office team based in London. What you’ll be involved in: Reconciling, affirming and confirming trades and positions for our trading business Producing and reconciling P&L and net liquidation Reconciling and analysing fees Reviewing alerts from Mako’s Trade Surveillance system Processing corporate actions and dividends Managing equity Settlements which involves liaising with traders, clearers and brokers to ensure timely settlement of trades Re-engineering and enhancing current processes Producing revenue analysis Operationally supporting Mako’s growth into new markets What we need from you: Required Skills A degree in a Mathematics, Science, Economics based subject or equivalent 1 years’ middle/back-office experience in financial services Process orientated with strong attention to detail Self-motivated and willing to learn Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Excellent time management & organisational skills Interest in financial markets Team orientated and willing and able to actively assist in projects to re-engineer and re-design operational process Desired Skills Competence in SQL Familiarity with a scripting language such as Python We are Mako At Mako, we are welcoming, inclusive and collaborative.
