This pivotal leadership position is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day delivery of credit, insurance, and customer service operations across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Senior General Manager, you will lead a portfolio covering credit risk, underwriting, collections, customer experience, and operational compliance. You’ll work closely with the executive team to shape business strategy, uplift service standards, streamline processes, and drive digital transformation. This role requires someone who brings strong commercial acumen, an ability to work within global policy frameworks, and a hands-on leadership style that balances structure with adaptability. The ideal candidate will be experienced in leading high-performing teams, confident in managing regulatory obligations (including APRA and ASIC requirements), and capable of navigating the complexities of working with an international parent company. Key Responsibilities Oversee and lead all aspects of credit risk, customer experience, compliance, and business process optimisation. Drive continuous improvement, automation, and digital transformation initiatives Oversee credit risk frameworks, underwriting policies, collections, and arrears management Champion customer experience and service delivery excellence Build and develop high-performing teams and future leaders with a strong culture of accountability and service Ensure compliance with APRA, ASIC, and responsible lending obligations Lead governance, controls, and corporate policy adherence, representing the business in regulatory and industry forums Report on operational performance, risk, and strategy to senior stakeholders Partner with the executive team on strategic initiatives, including acquisitions and overseas stakeholder engagement What You’ll Bring 10 years’ experience in financial services, with at least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role Proven experience managing credit risk, underwriting, and collections performance Strategic thinking combined with hands-on leadership capabilities Strong knowledge of consumer credit laws, responsible lending practices, and compliance frameworks. Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, including regulators, partners, and parent companies A track record of driving business transformation and leading large teams Experience working with or reporting to international parent companies is preferred Experience in motor finance, asset-backed lending, or captive finance is a definite advantage Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related discipline (MBA desirable) This high-visibility, hands-on role will give you the autonomy to lead change, shape operational culture, and influence local and global strategy.
