Location/Division Specific Information This role is a full-time permanent role based within our Adelaide site. It does not have any shift working, overtime or on call requirements. The role does require a manual handling capabilities of up to 25kg. About the Role: The Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler is primarily responsible for co-ordinating and planning the production schedule to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes as well as assisting with site inventory control and purchasing activities. This role involves collaborating with various departments, including production, procurement, quality and engineering to ensure materials and resources are available and production goals are met. Key Responsibilities: Planning: Effective and precise material planning with focus on customer needs, inventory targets and manufacturing capacities Analyze production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks Help to complete routine review and recalculations of material and product replenishment criteria considering historic consumption, volatility and marketing intelligence As required provide timely information to customer service, marketing, and sales team as to manufactured product availability Inventory Control: Ensure raw material inventory levels are optimized and expiry level is maintained within targets Supervise assigned inventory levels, perform physical counts of inventory, and reconcile actual stock counts to SAP reports Perform Cycle Counts to maintain inventory accuracy Purchasing: Provide regular assistance in Procurement / Purchasing Assist in ensuring that all required materials, products and services are procured in a timely, resourceful manner and resolve any issues with suppliers Review order acknowledgements and invoices (particularly Oxoid and Remel) to confirm acceptance of shelf life and pricing Help in co-ordinating supplier adherence to agreed terms utilising vendor non-conformance procedures where appropriate Complete reporting and update metrics in a timely manner and in the agreed format Participate in Practical Process Improvement (PPI) activities (including RCCMs and JDIs) as appropriate and utilises continuous improvement methodologies in daily work. Perform related duties as required and/or assigned to contribute to the efficient operation of the team and business Work collaboratively with teams in Production, Procurement, Quality & Regulatory, Acounts Payable/Receivable, Commercial and Customer Services Work with our external providers: Oxoid (Basingstoke), Remel (Dartford), Freight Forwarders and other international, national and local suppliers Keys to Success: Skills and Experience: Demonstrated industry work experience as a Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler within a similar role within a manufacturing environment Knowledge of production planning concepts, lean manufacturing and plan for every part and proficiency using production planning software and tools (e.g., SAP or other ERP systems) Experienced in Procurement and Inventory within a manufacturing environment Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - both written and verbal Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with high attention to detail and strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work optimally under pressure and maintain a focus to meet set targets or KPI's Actively participate in the EHS system by adhering to policies, reporting hazards and encourages others to do so to ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment Active involvement in continuous improvement as a daily way of working Appreciation/understanding of microbiology products is desirable Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment Benefits: Join our team and take advantage of these great benefits Apply now to learn more about the full range of benefits we offer.
