Location of work: NSW, VIC Length of contract: 12 months 12 months extension Candidate must be an Australian Citizen Key duties and responsibilities Extracting, cleansing and preparing of data from multiple sources, in particular the data warehouse, and advising on appropriate data checks for reasonableness. Updating and development of regular performance monitoring. Supporting the Scheme Actuary Division to fulfill statutory requirements including the provision of data and analysis for reporting to the Board, Minister and for the purpose of public data sharing. Utilising statistical and mathematical modelling techniques to undertake analytical work on a range of tasks, including actuarial monitoring and analyses, data tabulations, scheme projects and cost benefit analyses. Undertaking ad hoc modelling requests and report production. Effectively communicating (verbally and in writing) the progress of work responsibilities and outcomes of work undertaken. Candidate must provide a response to each criterion. Each response is limited to 3000 characters. Essential criteria Only candidates with 2 to 4 years experiences in the actuarial / data analytics / scientist industry will be considered. Proficient in R, some experience of GLMs or GBMs, excellent numerical ability, problem-solving aptitude, and proficiency in statistical modelling Proficient SQL / SAS programming This position is within the professional job stream and the officer must possess relevant academic qualifications including tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies or Mathematics/Statistics, progressing towards Associate and/or Fellowship qualifications Desirable criteria Knowledge and understanding of the contemporary issues facing the Scheme and people living with disability in Australia.
