Animal Emergency Australia (AEA) is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to manage critical finance functions in a growing national veterinary group. About the Role: As Accounts Payable Officer , you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely financial operations across a multi-entity group. You’ll handle accounts payable processes, credit card reconciliation, invoice payments, and end-of-month reporting. You’ll also be a go-to expert for practice managers and clinical teams when it comes to financial accuracy and support. Key Responsibilities Process and reconcile supplier invoices, employee expenses, and credit card transactions Track approvals and train practice managers in invoice handling using Dext Maintain financial data integrity in Xero and related systems Manage AP mailboxes and respond to payment queries Prepare and process mid-month and end-of-month payments via Commbiz Reconcile supplier statements and assist with EOFY closeout About You Essential: Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounts payable or bookkeeping (multi-entity environment preferred) Familiarity with Xero, Dext, and Excel Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Excellent communication and time management Knowledge of accounting principles, tax, and reconciliations Desirable: Formal qualifications in Accounting or Bookkeeping (Cert III/IV or higher) Prior experience in healthcare, veterinary, or not-for-profit sectors Why Join Us?
