Overview of our role We seek a Principal Business Analyst (Consultant) who excels in collaboration, problem-solving, and driving positive change. You will build strong relationships between our digital and business teams, focusing on electricity and gas. Your expertise will guide solutions that enhance processes, improve experiences, and deliver meaningful outcomes. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and design solutions with care, emphasizing people, customer journeys, and transformation. Success depends on your ability to unite teams, navigate priorities empathetically, and promote inclusive solutions. About you Significant experience in the utilities industry (Gas and Electricity). Understanding of strategic challenges in the utilities sector and implications of the energy transition. Strong regulatory knowledge, asset lifecycle management, risk-based maintenance, and compliance within utilities. Understanding organizational structures and operations such as customer innovation, utility metering, revenue, asset management, field management, or construction. Experience in consulting or for a consultancy is advantageous. Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, communicate complex ideas clearly, and support decision-making. Experience working with solution managers and architects to align business needs with strategic goals. Balanced approach to strategy and execution, combining long-term planning with hands-on collaboration. Ability to facilitate workshops and present insights confidently to senior audiences. Qualifications / skills Relevant tertiary qualification in IT, Business, Commerce, Project Management, or related field, with extensive Business Analysis experience. Understanding of how different business parts connect, with experience in areas like customer innovation, utility metering, revenue, asset management, or construction. Experience with collaborative tools and techniques for process mapping, requirements gathering, and benefits tracking.
