Fellow - Cardiology Echocardiography - 2026 Alfred Health is a leader in healthcare delivery, research, and education, serving the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne. We are offering a one-year fellowship (81 hours per fortnight) in Echocardiography. Applicants must have completed at least three years of Advanced Training in Clinical Cardiology and hold FRACP (Part 2) or an equivalent qualification. This position provides training in all aspects of echocardiography, including transthoracic, stress, and transoesophageal echocardiography for inpatients and outpatients. It also supports echocardiography work within interventional, structural, and electrophysiology laboratories. The Alfred is a quaternary referral center providing statewide services in Heart Transplantation and MCS. The role involves supervising junior medical staff, managing their duties, and coordinating daily echocardiography laboratory activities. The placement aims to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for the discipline and support progression in specialist training programs. Participants will engage in the department's outstanding cardiac education program. Focus areas include participation in the structural heart program, involvement in mitral and tricuspid TEER cases, and exposure to investigational devices. There may also be opportunities to gain experience in cardiac CT or CMR, depending on operational needs. Research opportunities are available with an experienced imaging research team.
