The Pie Tin Cook Address: Newtown NSW 2042 About us The Pie Tin specialises in sweet and savoury pies, all handmade daily on premises from fresh ingredients. We are seeking a full-time Cook to join our Newtown, NSW location. About the Role: As a Cook in our company, you are responsible for assisting in the kitchen operations to effectively deliver a high-quality service to our customers. The positon will be reporting to will be reporting to the Chef and management. The key responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to: Ensure consistent and smooth running of food preparation and assist the Chefs in the Kitchen. Ensuring that all food is cooked properly and served on time, and that it is presented correctly. Liaising with pastry staff to ensure adequate stock levels. Responsible for food portion control, wastage management and stock purchase (receipt and storage) Able to handle equipment, appliances, small wares, supplies, and tools effectively and as per requirements Savoury pie production- end-to-end production. Assist in preparing Pie filling, assembling pies Preparing and production of sides, salad production and services Stock rotation, including dating products per food safety standards. Cleanliness of work areas and equipment. Quality control and stock rotation First bake and set up when required. Order picking for external stores & wholesale clients. Adhere to HACCP and OH&S guidelines. Other duties required to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen, as directed by the Head Chef. About You Successful candidates will have the following. Qualification (Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery) Must have proven relevant experience of three years. Have experience in pie-making cuisine. Will have relevant qualifications or a significant level of relevant experience. Have excellent teamwork and strong communication skills (both written and verbal). Have a passion for cooking and a strong team player. Be a self-starter and highly motivated.
