ConsultANZ is looking for a Superintendent/Operations Manager in Cambridge. Our client is a well-established civil contractor operating throughout Waikato, South Waikato, and the Bay of Plenty region. With a strong reputation in delivering drainage, earthworks, slip repairs, retaining structures, and sewerage treatment works. This is a people-focused role suited to someone with a strong ability to manage teams, resolve personnel issues, and oversee site operations across multiple projects. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a small, dedicated team including 2 Foremen, 1 Supervisor, and several work crews. Oversee project delivery across up to 4 live sites in the Waikato, South Waikato, and Tauranga regions. Handle HR matters including performance management, disciplinary actions, and team development. Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring site compliance and safe work practices. Coordinate workforce and resources to ensure smooth and timely project delivery. Support scheduling, progress tracking, and general site oversight. Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders as required. About You Proven experience in site supervision or operations management within civil construction. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills – ability to manage and motivate teams is essential. Solid understanding of HR/people management processes including conflict resolution. Familiarity with civil construction projects (drainage, earthworks, or treatment plants) is ideal. Experience or willingness to learn Topcon GPS systems for site set-out. Excellent organisational and communication skills. A practical, hands-on mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
